Chisem

“Chisem” is a Tibetan word meaning Selflessness.

The name reflects our commitment to community care, youth leadership, and mental health support rooted in compassion. It is our brand promise — and the reason we exist.

Mission

To advance mental health awareness and support within Tibetan and youth communities through creative, culturally grounded, and community-led initiatives.

Vision

A future where Tibetan youth and community members can speak openly about mental health, access support without stigma, and grow through self-reflection, creativity, and collective care.

Our story

Started by youth, for our community.

We began in 2022 with a simple belief: mental health starts with a conversation, and those conversations feel safer when they’re grounded in our own language and culture.

Since then we’ve hosted awareness events, run workshops, held open discussions, and built storytelling spaces where Tibetan youth can be heard. Start where you are — a conversation is a good first step.

What guides us

Our principles.

001

Selflessness

Community care comes first. We centre the people we serve, not the organization.

002

Youth-led

Young voices lead. The brand sounds like the community it comes from — real and direct.

003

Culturally grounded

Tibetan language and culture are part of our identity, not decoration.

004

Open & stigma-free

We make it safe to talk. Clarity and warmth lower the barrier to reaching out.

005

Progress over perfection

We encourage the next small step — a reflection, a conversation, a resource — over waiting for a perfect plan.
